R6.tiledb FAQ

1. How can I get the underlying object from TileDBArray and TileDBGroup?

Both classes have an active binding field $object that gives access to underlying tiledb object, i.e., either tiledb_array() or tiledb_group() objects.

Note that with TileDBArray you can also use the $tiledb_array() method that gives access to a separate array handle.

2. How can I use time-travelling feature?

Use either tiledb_timestamp argument at instantiation of TileDBArray and TileDBGroup classes or their mutable active field tiledb_timestamp. These options work for read mode only.

For writing commits at arbitrary point in time, use open_write() and for metadata use set_metadata() method with its timestamp argument.

3. How can I see the last commit?

Use $get_last_ifragments() method:

# array uri
uri <- "array path here"

# instantiate TileDBFragments
fobj <- tdb_fragments(uri)

# last i fragments
fobj$get_last_ifragments(1)
